A dog's natural reflex is to pull against pressure exerted on its neck by a standard collar. The Beaphar Gentle Leader® counters this opposition reflex in three distinct ways:

Fitting & Adjustment Instructions:

• Key Components:
  • Neck Strap: Fits high on the neck behind the ears.
  • Buckle: Connects the neck strap securely.
  • Nose Loop: Fits over the dog's muzzle.
  • Adjustable Sliding Clamp: Adjusts and locks the nose loop size.
  • Centre Double D-Ring: Allows automatic pressure release when pulling stops.
  • Control Ring: Where the standard walking lead attaches.
• Step-by-Step Fitting:

1. Attach your regular lead to the control ring on the Gentle Leader®.
2. Unbuckle the neck strap so the harness hangs down in a "T" shape.
3. Fit the neck strap high up at the base of the skull at the back and snug above the throat at the front (much higher than a standard collar).
4. Ensure a snug fit allowing only 1 finger underneath the strap to prevent rotating.
5. Unbuckle the neck strap and open the adjustable sliding clamp, sliding it down toward the control ring.
6. Pull the nose loop up through the centre double D-ring to enlarge it, then slide it over your dog's muzzle.
7. Re-connect the neck strap buckle high behind the ears.
8. Slide the adjustable clamp up under the jaw to fit the nose loop comfortably, then snap the clamp shut.
9. Correct Nose Loop Position: Sits in front of the eyes and behind the corners of the mouth, loose enough to slide forward to the fleshy tip of the nose.

• Pro-Tip: Once set, do NOT repeatedly open the sliding clamp. To remove, simply unbuckle the neck strap and slip the nose loop off.
